What is the next thing we will build for your course?

Tell us how we could make the product more useful to you and your students.

Planned

Exam replay

See how a student worked through an exam. Exam replay will play back a student’s keystrokes and flag moments worth a second look. This builds on Exams, which is in beta today. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Learn more about Exams

Planned

Class-wide summaries of tutor conversations

See what your students are confused about, without reading every conversation. AI will pull out the patterns across your class’s AI tutor conversations, so you can see which ideas the class keeps getting stuck on. This builds on Insight from tutor conversations, which is available today. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Planned

AI summaries in Analytics

Know who needs you the moment you log in. Every time you log in, AI will summarize what changed in your course and flag the students who are struggling. This builds on Analytics and insights, which is available today. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Learn more about Analytics and insights

Planned

Discussions

A Q&A board for your course, plus discussions you can grade. Give students one place to ask questions and find answers your teaching team has endorsed. Assign a discussion like any other assignment, and AI drafts participation grades you review. Course Q&A board: Students post questions, notes, and announcements by category, with code and math. Instructors endorse the best answers, and the class upvotes the helpful ones. Anonymous and private posts: Students can post anonymously to classmates or privately to the teaching team. Instructors always see who wrote it. Graded discussions: Assign a discussion with a due date and reply requirements. Students post before they see classmates’ posts, and you can pin, lock, or hide anything. AI-drafted grades: AI drafts a grade and feedback for each student against your rubric, and you make the final call. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Learn more about Discussions

Planned

Live interactive slides

Slides that ask questions back. Present slides built from your course materials, with questions and polls students answer live from their own devices. Slides from your lessons: Turn any lesson into slides, or build a deck in the same editor. Live responses: Students answer on their own devices, and responses appear on your screen while you’re still teaching. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Learn more about Live interactive slides

Planned

Paper assignment grading

Keep paper assignments and grade them faster. Upload scanned or photographed paper work. CuraCourse drafts a grade and personalized feedback for each student, and you review and release them. Handwriting stays on paper: Students keep writing proofs and derivations by hand. You make the final call: Review every drafted grade and note before students see it. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Learn more about Paper assignment grading

Planned

Mastery-based learning

Students move on when they’ve learned it. Set a mastery goal for each skill. Students who haven’t reached it get more practice and retries on that skill, and students who have can move ahead. Skill by skill: See mastery for each skill, not just a grade. Practice where it’s needed: Students who are behind get practice targeted to the skill they’re missing. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Learn more about Mastery-based learning

Planned

Question variants

Every student gets a different version. AI writes new versions of your questions, so each student or attempt gets a different one. Sharing answers stops working, and retries still mean something. Parallel versions: New values and scenarios, checked against the same rubric. Unlimited practice: Students can keep practicing on fresh versions until they get it. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Learn more about Question variants

Planned

Attendance tracking

Take attendance in seconds. Put a QR code on the screen and students scan it to check in. The code changes every minute, so a photo texted to a friend stops working almost right away. Rotating QR check-in: Start a session, show the code, and students scan it with their phones. Records that add up: Attendance saves to each student’s record and your gradebook, ready to export. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Learn more about Attendance tracking

Planned

AI content review

A second set of eyes on every publish. Every time you publish, and at every term rollover, AI checks your course for accessibility problems, broken links, and outdated content. Accessibility checks: Catch missing alt text and poor contrast before students hit them. Broken links: Find links that stopped working since last term. Outdated content: Flag dates, versions, and references that need a refresh. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Learn more about AI content review

Planned

Natural-language course management

Course chores in one sentence. Ask the assistant to shift every due date in a module or make the same edit across dozens of lessons. You review each change before it’s applied. Due dates: “Push every Module 4 due date back one week.” Edits across lessons: “Change ‘homework’ to ‘problem set’ in every lesson.” Access: “Hide the solutions in Unit 2 until Friday at 5pm.” Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. Learn more about Natural-language course management

Planned

Interactive video

Your lectures, with the questions built in. Add questions at the points you choose in a recorded lecture. Students answer as they watch, and you see where they get stuck. Questions at the right moment: Pause the video at a point you choose and ask a question before students continue. Where the class got lost: Question results show which minute of the lecture lost the class. Want this? Upvote this request and tell us in the comments how you'd use it. "Create Snapshot" feature for text input fields

The ability to create backups of your current code makes it safer to experiment, especially when the original assignment provided sample code. Alongside this, a "revert to default" button would be useful, though it should have multiple warnings as to not be accidentally triggered.

In Progress

Smart-syntax for surrounding characters like " [ ( < etc

When highlighting characters then typing a character that requires another character to work correctly, it should place the correct characters around the selection rather than replacing the selection. For example, when highlighting voltage_v  0.5, I would expect that typing a left parenthesis to house the highlighted string in parenthesis.

Add Redo to student text editor

Undo/Redo via Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z is a standard feature in any text editor

Planned

Use standard color formatting in input fields

It may be confusing to students without prior experience for their code to not have the same visual formatting as the provided example. Specifically, the code in the editor should gain the more detailed color formatting of the example. Personally, I will be completing longer assignments in an external IDE then pasting them back into CuraCourse due to this and the editor window size issue I previously opened a ticket regarding.

In Progress

Improve input field scaling and allow user resizing

The input and output fields only take up about half of the screen's width, and when instructions are provided via comments, this makes it tedious to fully read them.
